New Original Drawings – Rediscovering the Joy of Drawing
There is something wonderfully intimate about drawing.
After many years of working as an artist in different traditional techniques, I have recently found myself returning to one of my great loves: drawing. I am delighted to share a new collection of original drawings, created with patience, attention to detail, and a love for small stories.
The joy of drawing
Drawing asks me to slow down and really look.
Every little detail matters — the texture of fur, the sparkle in an eye, the delicate shape of a leaf, or the way light falls across a surface. I love the process of building an image gradually, allowing the subject to come to life on paper.
Although I am known for my paintings and linocut prints, colored pencil drawing has always fascinated me. It gives me the opportunity to work with incredible precision while still creating warmth and character.
From pencil to a little story
Many of my new drawings feature animals and small, everyday moments. I am particularly drawn to subjects that have a certain charm or personality.
A tiny animal can suddenly become a character with a story of its own.
Two little mice on a bicycle, for example, are no longer simply mice. They become two friends setting off on an adventure together. It is these kinds of playful details that make creating animal drawings so much fun for me.
I don’t always want my art to be serious. Sometimes I simply want to create something that makes you smile.
Working with colored pencil
Creating a detailed colored pencil artwork is a slow and very rewarding process.
I build up the colors layer by layer, gradually developing the forms, textures and subtle changes in light. I can spend a great deal of time on the smallest details — the individual hairs of an animal, the reflection in an eye or a tiny highlight that makes a surface feel almost tangible.
That patience is part of what I love about traditional drawing.
In a world where so much is created digitally and instantly, there is something very satisfying about making an image by hand, one pencil stroke at a time.

Each drawing in this new collection is an original artwork, personally created by me in my studio.
There is only one original of each drawing, making these works very personal pieces of art to own. I enjoy the thought that one of my drawings might eventually find its way into someone’s home and become part of their everyday surroundings.
