Portal to Tranquility – My New Painting
With great love and joy, I’m delighted to share my newest work with you: Portal to Tranquility. This oil painting, created on a 3D canvas measuring 80 x 100 cm, is a journey to a place of peace, light, and stillness.

The meaning behind the work
The title Portal to Tranquility captures exactly what I wanted to express with this painting. At its center stands an angel, bathed in a soft, heavenly light. Her large, outspread wings seem almost alive, as if she could take flight at any moment. With her eyes closed and a serene expression, she radiates a deep, inner calm.
She stands at the edge of a mirror-like body of water that reflects the light and enhances the serenity of the scene. In the background, you’ll see an old, rose-covered passageway with a staircase leading toward a source of light – the actual “portal” that invites you to step into a world of peace and reflection.
The symbolism in the details
In this work, I deliberately included a number of symbolic elements:
- The roses in the foreground, from bud to full bloom, represent love, beauty, and the different phases of life. I truly enjoyed painting their soft, creamy tones.
- The robin perched on the branch is seen in many cultures as a messenger and a sign of hope and renewal – a small but meaningful detail.
- The light streaming through the passageway forms the heart of the composition, drawing the viewer’s gaze toward the tranquility that lies beyond the portal.

Technique and execution
This painting was created with oil paint on a 3D canvas, which means the sides have been painted as well. The work can therefore be hung on the wall without a frame and has a modern, spatial appearance. The rich layers of oil paint give the piece depth and a soft glow that is best appreciated in person.
In closing
For me, Portal to Tranquility is an invitation to pause for a moment, take a breath, and find the peace we sometimes need so much. I hope this painting evokes the same feeling in you.
