Guardian of the Light – Reduction Linocut Print – Limited Edition of 15
After months of attentive, layered work, my latest reduction linocut is complete: Guardian of the Light.
This serene, protective figure watches over the light within—the goodness, love and conscious choice to keep turning towards the light, even during times of darkness.
The artwork symbolises a light that does not need to be found outside ourselves, but already lives within us. It is a reminder of the strength found in gentleness, of love as a conscious choice and of the quiet presence of light that is always available.
The print was created from a single linoleum block using 28 individually printed layers of colour. Every layer required exceptional precision, patience and complete dedication to the process.
With the reduction technique, more material is carved away from the same block before each new colour is printed. The block gradually disappears as the work develops, making every stage irreversible and ensuring that the edition can never be reproduced.
The faces were individually painted by hand because their delicate details were too fine to print with the desired clarity. As a result, every impression has its own subtle expression and individual character.
Guardian of the Light is available in a strictly limited edition of only 15 impressions. Each print is signed and numbered by hand and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

The 28 layers of ink were carefully built up to create maximum luminosity, depth and nuance.
During the printing process, I was accompanied by classical music and moments of silence. This sense of tranquillity can be felt within the artwork and carries its intention of protection, love and inner light.
Guardian of the Light forms part of my new Angel Series, which explores inner light, consciousness and the connection between the human and the soul.
