Hen – Reduction Linocut Print – Limited Edition of 10
Bring warmth, colour and gentle character into your home with this original, hand-printed reduction linocut of a hen surrounded by flowers.
The 30 × 30 cm image is printed on 35 × 35 cm, 300 gsm Fabriano paper. Twelve individually printed layers of Caligo Safe Wash oil-based relief ink create rich colour variations, depth and a distinctive tactile surface.
The artwork is available in a strictly limited edition of only 10 impressions. Every print is made individually by hand, creating subtle variations in colour, texture and pressure that give each impression its own unique character.
An Irreversible Printing Process
The reduction technique involves carving more material away from the same linoleum block before each new colour is printed.
Once a layer has been completed and the block has been carved again, there is no possibility of returning to an earlier stage. The process requires careful planning, patience and precision throughout all 12 layers.
Inspired by Animals and Art Nouveau
My inspiration for this hen comes from the animals that surround me in my countryside studio. As I work, I hear sheep, horses and goats nearby. Their presence brings me tranquillity and joy, and I try to express that feeling through my art.
The decorative style of this print is influenced by Art Nouveau and artists such as William Morris and Alphonse Mucha.

Free worldwide shipping is included. The artwork will be carefully packaged flat between two sturdy MDF boards to protect it during transit.
Orders are shipped from my studio in the Netherlands with PostNL and include tracking. Mounted and unframed prints are usually dispatched within 1–3 working days. Please allow up to one additional week for framed orders.
