Geïnspireerd door natuur en Art Nouveau
Mijn inspiratie voor deze print komt uit het dagelijks leven op het platteland. Terwijl ik werk in mijn atelier, hoor ik de geluiden van schapen, paarden en geiten. Dieren maken me blij en zijn een terugkerend thema in mijn werk.
De stijl van deze print is beïnvloed door de sierlijke vormen en rijke details van de Art Nouveau-beweging, met duidelijke verwijzingen naar het werk van William Morris en Alphonse Mucha.
Elk exemplaar is uniek

This original reduction linocut of a bumblebee is a celebration of the beauty and delicate strength of nature.
Each impression is printed individually by hand using nine layers of Caligo Safe Wash oil-based relief ink. The carefully built-up colours and textures give the bumblebee a lively presence that continues to reveal new details.
Inspired by Nature and Art Nouveau
My inspiration for this print comes from daily life in the countryside. As I work in my studio, I hear sheep, horses and goats nearby. Animals bring me joy and are a recurring subject throughout my work.
The decorative style of this print is influenced by the flowing forms and intricate details of Art Nouveau, with references to artists and designers such as William Morris and Alphonse Mucha.
Every Impression Is Unique
This artwork is available in a limited edition of 40. Because every impression is printed by hand, subtle variations occur in the colour, distribution of ink and surface texture.
The roller may have been used slightly differently or the ink mixed in a subtly different shade. These natural variations give every print its own individual character.
An Irreversible Printing Process
The reduction technique involves carving more material away from the same linoleum block after each colour has been printed. Every stage is permanent, leaving no opportunity to return to an earlier layer or correct the block.
Creating the nine carefully planned layers required patience, precision and close attention throughout the entire printing process.
