Rooster – Reduction Linocut Print – Limited Edition of 10
Bring character, strength and colour into your home with this original, hand-printed reduction linocut of a rooster surrounded by flowers.
The 30 × 30 cm image is printed on 35 × 35 cm, 300 gsm Fabriano paper. Twelve individually printed layers of Caligo Safe Wash oil-based relief ink create a richly coloured image with remarkable depth and texture.
The artwork is available in a strictly limited edition of only 10 impressions. Every print is made individually by hand, creating subtle variations in colour and texture that give each impression its own unique character.
The reduction technique requires careful planning and precision. After each colour has been printed, more material is carved away from the same linoleum block. Because every stage is irreversible, the block cannot be returned to an earlier state and the edition can never be reproduced.

My inspiration for this rooster comes from the animals that surround me every day in my countryside studio. As I work, I hear sheep, horses and goats nearby. Their presence brings me tranquillity and joy, and I try to capture that feeling in my art.
The decorative style of this print is influenced by Art Nouveau and artists such as William Morris and Alphonse Mucha.
