Turkey – Reduction Linocut Print – Limited Edition of 10
This original, hand-printed reduction linocut depicts a turkey surrounded by flowers. It is available in a strictly limited edition of only 10 impressions and was created with 11 layers of Caligo Safe Wash oil-based relief ink.
Inspired by Animals and Art Nouveau
My inspiration comes from the animals that bring me joy. My studio is situated in the countryside, where I hear sheep, horses and goats as I work. I love being surrounded by animals, and their character and presence are recurring themes throughout my art.
The decorative style of this print is influenced by Art Nouveau and artists such as William Morris and Alphonse Mucha.
Every Impression Is Unique
More than two months were spent designing, carving and printing this artwork. Each impression is printed individually by hand and has its own subtle variations.
The roller may have been used slightly differently or the ink mixed in a subtly different shade. These natural variations give every print its own individual character.
An Irreversible Printing Process
The reduction technique involves carving more material away from the same linoleum block before every new colour is printed.
Once a layer has been printed and the block has been carved again, there is no possibility of returning to an earlier stage. Mistakes cannot be corrected, making careful planning, patience and precision essential throughout all 11 layers.

Orders are shipped from my studio in the Netherlands with PostNL and include tracking. Mounted and unframed prints are usually dispatched within 1–3 working days. Please allow up to one additional week for framed orders.
